Historic Spencer Penn Centre was formed in 2004 as an education and special events center when the community bought the property after the closing of the public school.
Since that time, renovations have brought the property up to modern day standards, while maintaining the historic integrity.
Spencer Penn Centre has become a beautiful and versatile venue for hosting all kinds of family and business events. Small and large rooms are available at very reasonable rental rates.
Education has always been the goal for Spencer Penn School since 1927 and remains so today. The Hylton Library is free and open to the public and has become a comfortable and inviting place for all who stop in to check out a book or use the children’s room. The Library hosts a six-week reading program each summer that offers fun activities while stressing the love of reading.
The Stone Tech Lab is open to the public on Mondays and Thursdays and also is used for the SPICE Tutoring Program.
A wide variety of classes are offered throughout the year. Please check the Center’s web site. Summer is usually devoted to children, offering a wide selection for six weeks at very reasonable costs.
Spencer Penn is also known for Music Night, always on the second Friday night, with live gospel and toe-tapping bluegrass. Doors open at 5:00 with delicious concessions.
We welcome you to stop by and visit the Centre anytime!
