Create you own barn quilt block and join the new Patrick County Barn Quilt Trail - Class scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2019, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 334 Patrick Avenue, Creative Arts Center, hosted by the Patrick Count Barn Quilt Trail Committee, the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, and the Reynolds Homestead. Spring Winemaker's Dinner at Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant

Carolina Live! Explores North Carolina's Deep Musical History

Presented by the Stokes County Arts Council, "Carolina Live" will deliver a dynamic public performance on Sunday, March 24th, at 3:00 PM at The Arts Place, 502 N Main Street, Danbury, North Carolina. “With 2019 being designated as the year of music in North Carolina, we wanted to make a special emphasis on educating the students and public about the contributions of influential NC musicians to the history of music in the United States,” remarked Stokes County Arts Council Executive Director Eddy McGee. Carolina Music Ways is a non-profit arts-in-education organization based in Winston-Salem whose mission is to educate children in North Carolina about the state’s diverse musical heritage and inspire them to participate in its rich music traditions. African American Genealogy Workshop

AFRICAN AMERICAN GENEALOGY WORKSHOP "Reclaiming a Lost Heritage: 400 Years of Genealogy" Saturday, March 30, 2019 10-3 $25.00 Includes lunch In honor of the 400th remembrance of the first enslaved Africans brought to North America, John will discuss this event and its impact on genealogy. He will also explore a new method in genealogical research, which will be included in his book on African American genealogy. John has also written a biography on Mrs. Annie Turnbo Malone, using the genealogy tools which he will discuss. Malone was a 20th century African American millionaire entrepreneur; she taught famed Madam C.J. Walker in the science and art of beauty culture. These books will be available for purchase at the workshop. The $25 registration fee includes all handouts and a hot buffet lunch. Bottle Cut Jewelry Sunday, April 7, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Pat Coleman, Instructor For those who love creating and designing jewelry, Pat Coleman, another Studio 107 artist, will be teaching Bottle Cut Jewelry on Sunday, April 7 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Students will learn the techniques to cut and shape bottles into designs, then foil and wire wrap the cuts to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings. All supplies are provided for the class, but if anyone has a beautifully colored bottle they would like to bring, they are welcome to do so. The cost of the class is $30.00 per person.

Spring is the time to think about new wreaths for the front door, and Bonnie Turner from Stuart is offering a Corn Shuck Wreath Class on Sunday, May 5 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. These wreaths are beautiful and would be excellent Mother’s Day gifts as well. Students will work with a 14-in wreath form, and natural or dyed corn shucks to create the wreaths. The Reynolds Homestead to offer Body Transformation Challenge Class

Mondays.....BODY TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE! Get the new year off to a great start with the Body Transformation Challenge! The class meets weekly for 9 weeks, 60 minutes each week. The first 30 minutes includes group discussions, food talk, weight loss tips, recipe shares and weigh-ins. The second 30 minutes is a full body circuit workout (no equipment needed!) Wear appropriate clothes and bring a workout mat. Challengers receive a simple savory healthy food plan, healthy recipes and snack ideas, weekly workouts, weight loss tips, and support from the coach and other challengers. It's always easier to get a good start with a group. Join the fun and get the work done together! Cost is $99 per person. Meets weekly at the Creative Arts Center, 334 Patrick Avenue, Stuart, Virginia, at 6:00 p.m. Inclement weather days will be added onto the end of the 9 weeks for make-up.
