First Friday Summer Jam Series

May 4

6:30 PM - A collaborative effort between Patrick County Tourism, WHEO radio and One Family Productions has resulted in the creation of a "First Friday Summer Jam Series" musical event that will be held at the Stuart Farmer's Market on the first Friday of the month this May, June, July and August. The "First Friday Summer Jam Series" kicks off on Friday, May 4th at 6:30 p.m. with Urban Soil, a popular rock and soul band hailing from Raleigh, North Carolina. Influenced by early roots elements, Urban Soil uniquely fuses those sounds with a fresh take, delivering a blend of raw, nostalgic sounds with a modern and glistening slant. This event will continue throughout the summer and feature a different high-caliber band each month. Admission to the First Friday event is just $5 per person. Those aged 12 and under get in free, so be sure to bring your family and lawn chairs for a special musical evening at the Farmer's Market in downtown Stuart. To supplement the musical entertainment, food, beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be available for purchase at a nominal cost. The May event features great food from Dogtown Pizza, wine by Stanburn Winery, and a beer selection by Blue Ridge Beverage featuring domestic and craft beers as well as ciders. New Belgium beer will be the featured beer in May. This collaborative effort includes sponsorship or event assistance by several organizations within the community, including the Town of Stuart, Uptown Suites, and Kreager Woodworking, sponsor of Urban Soil in May. If your business is interested in working with Patrick County Tourism, WHEO and One Family Productions for future sponsorship assistance, please contact Patti Dalton at 694-3114.
