Article written by Tom Bishop. This photo is of the new construction site just off South Fork Loop, East of Stuart, VA. Also near the South Fork Farm. It is an AT & T tower, which will be 250 foot tall and will be the lattice style. It will be the type which permits co-location by other Cellular Phone companies. The 2nd site is just off South Mayo and Vernon Drive,near Patrick Springs, VA. This site is under construction too. A third AT & T tower will be built in the Stella community of Patrick County. At Nettle's Ridge community of Patrick County, a U. S. Cellular tower is in operation, adjoining U. S. Route 58. Another U. S. Cellular monopole tower was constructed this year on Penn Store Road, approximately 1 mile from U. S. 58. This one has a "Christmas Tree look", which takes into account a historical site in the vicinity. The cell phone coverage on U. S. Route 58 between Stuart and Martinsville has been drastically improved and will only get better.
