Ninth district U. S. Representative Morgan Griffith, R-Salem, honored Patrick County Marine, CPL J. B. Kerns when he spoke on the floor of the U. S. House of Representatives

CPL Kerns was injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated during a mine sweep in Afghanistan in April, 2011. Kerns was 21 when he lost both legs and one arm in the explosion.
