SUBCOMMITTEE VOTES TO AUTHORIZE ISSUANCE OF SUBPOENAS FOR SOLYNDRA DOCUMENTS
WASHINGTON – Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today regarding a vote by the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations to authorize the issuance of two subpoenas to the White House and the Office of the Vice President for documents relating to the $535 million loan guarantee and subordination to the now-bankrupt Solyndra:
“Cooperation, cooperation – but there is no cooperation, said Congressman Griffith. “Two months ago the Committee asked the White House for documents relating to the Solyndra loan guarantee. We are still waiting. Half a billion dollars of taxpayer money is gone and $75 million subordinated – putting the taxpayers in the backseat as secondary creditors. It is important that the White House quit stonewalling and give us information important to the investigation. The American people need to know who knew what and when they knew it. Unfortunately, it appears a subpoena is the only way to get this information.
