Mrs. Mary Irene Pruitt Jessup, age 83 of Claudville, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Jessup was born in Patrick County to Theodore Roosevelt “Rose� and Minnie Fulk Pruitt.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and her husband are well known and respected farmers of the community. Surviving is her husband, Otis Lee Jessup of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Faye Jessup, David and Renee Jessup and Vickie Jessup all of Claudville; grandchildren, Brian Jessup and wife Traci, Travis Jessup, Stephanie Gallemore and husband Tom, Brandon Jessup, Shawn Jessup, Andrew Jessup, Heather J. Jones and husband Clay, Jennifer Jessup and husband Adam Miller and Courtney Jessup; great grandchildren, Chase, Luke, Thaxton and Noah; sisters, Lottie Allen of Gastonia and Madeline Kirkman of Mt. Airy and brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Allie Mae Pruitt, Stewart and Sandra Pruitt and Horace and Cheryl Pruitt all of Pinnacle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by a son, Mike Jessup; twin grandsons, Brad and Chad and a brother, Morace Pruitt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Neil Pressley, Rev. Tommy Smith and Rev. Roger Collins. Entombment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
