Family Day at the Windy Hill Orchard was on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Owned and operated by Debbe and Jay Noonkester

These are Red Delicious apples. I picked a box of them on Saturday, while various families came to pick their own apples and buy some apple cider. Weather was dismal, but people came anyway and enjoyed the local grown products. Other products on hand were dried apples, local grown tomatoes and fried apple (moon) pies from Southern Traditions (also from Ararat).
