Aug. 12-Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling and his wife were visiting Meadows of Dan business district in Patrick County and stopped by the Blue Ridge Visitor Center and Meadows Mercantile.

He indicated he would be in Stuart, VA for a political rally at DeHart Park with Senator Bill Stanley (R) that includes a BBQ Picnic on Saturday, August 13. Lt. Gov. Bolling will also attend the Fiddler's Convention at Galax, VA and enjoy a "Poor Man's Supper" on August 13. This week ending caps a week when Republican representatives spent considerable time in Patrick County meeting and greeting County residents. Monday, at the Patrick County Board of Supervisors meeting, Congressman Morgan Griffith (R) of Salem and representative of the 9th District and Del. Charles Poindexter (R) from Franklin County address the Board and those in attendance. On Friday morning, former Governor George Allen (R) stopped in at W & W Produce, outside Stuart, to meet the public as he traveled to Carroll, Wythe, and Bland Counties. He is running for U. S. Senate in the position that will be vacated by current Senator Jim Webb (D). Mr. Allen purchased some Patrick County peaches and a jar of moonshine jelly.
