Del. Charles Poindexter (R) of Franklin County, VA visited Stuart, VA on August 5, 2011 and stopped in for lunch at Slate's restuarant on Patrick Avenue.

"Our rural district spans from the Blue Ridge Parkway eastward to Philpott, and Smith Mountain lakes. Those of us who live in this scenic and economically diverse region simply and proudly call it home." Del. Poindexter is running against Del. Ward Armstrong (D) of Collinsville, VA who is also an incumbent. They are facing each other in a newly drawn 9th district. Del.
