Here is a photo of Sunday afternoon at Mabry Mill, Virginia, where they play old time music and dance. Under the shade trees people come from all over the world to enjoy the old way of life.

Demonstrations were being conducted of the grist mill, broom making, blacksmithing and other things. Always a pleasure to pull up a folding chair, listen to the music and watch people do what we call "flat-footing". Today was especially good with a summer rain shower that preceeded the music and dancing, cooling off the air, then giving us a bright sunshine. We saw car licenses from New York, Maryland, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia. Before we got here we had a nice sit down lunch-dinner at Woodberry Inn, on Woodberry Road, not far from Mabry Mill. Photo and story by Tom Bishop
