The schedule for this year's Peach Festival events is as follows: Saturday August 13- Virginia State Peach Pageant at the Historic Star Theatre, 318 Patrick Avenue, Stuart, VA Time: 2:00 P. M. (Tiny Miss Peach, Little Miss Peach, Junior Miss Peach, and Miss Peach). Admission is $3.00 at the door. FRIDAY, August 19- Join all your friends and neighbors for the traditional evening music celebration in Stuart DeHart Park, 212 Johnson Street, Stuart, VA. Music by the Key West Band, 58 West and Jason Harris and Friends Gates open at 4:00 pm Music begins at 5:30 pm Ticket price: $8 advance, $12 at the gate. Children 12-under Free (Ticket price does not include food and beverage). Program includes various food, crafters and business exhibitors. Barbeque by Two By Two Barbeque of Meadows of Dan, Va. Local peaches and Peach Ice Cream by Creamy Creations. No coolers please. Paul Farrar will be there from the “Cooking With Paul� TV show, serving samples of home made Peach Ice Cream. Mr. Pokeeto, the clown will be there for all the kids! This is a RAIN OR SHINE event. SATURDAY, August 20 –7th Annual Folk Fair will be at the Meadows of Dan, VA. Location is on U. S. Rt. 58 Business and it begins at 10:00am. Activities will be in the business district on JEB Stuart Highway featuring Belgian Horse Drawn Wagon rides, Local Peaches and Peach Desserts, Blacksmithing, Peach Butter Making, Wood-Turning, Hand Spinning, Antiques, Music, Food Vendors, Heritage Arts & Craft Show . Admission is FREE. “A Simpler Place In Time� Patrick County, VA is nestled along the Blue Ridge Mountains, and has gained the appellation, “Peach Tree Bottom�. Bountiful peach trees still flourish in this scenic region and this celebration is to honor the county’s peach growers.
