Del. Ward Armstrong of Collinsville, VA (Democrat) is moving his residency to Bassett, VA which will put him in the 9th District. He will face incumbent Del. Charles Poindexter from Glade Hill, VA

The newly drawn 9th district includes all of Patrick County, part of Franklin County and the western part of Henry County. Armstrong's home district will become part of the 16th District which is now represented by Del. Don Merricks. For more details, see The Enterprise, June 8, 2011, page 1.
