Patrick County, VA unemployment dropped to 8.8% for April 2011, as compared to 9.7% for March 2011.

This data is from the Virginia Employment Commission. There were 825 jobless Patrick residents in April, down from 917 in March and 1,043 in April 2010. Patrick County’s rate was the 17th highest in the state, data show. Patrick also saw the size of its labor force drop, from 9,461 in April of last year to 9,454 in March and 9,414 in April.
