On May 18, 2011 the Town of Stuart voted to allocate $1000 to the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce for Tourism, moving money from capital expenditures to contributions. This was from the 2011-2012 budget.

Speaking in favor of a motion by Ray Weiland, were Mayor Jim McHone, Dean Goad and Rebecca Adcock. Councilman Dale Firebaugh spoke with uncertainty about the matter although eh said, "Tom Bishop does a great job, probably the best ever had in the chamber." Mr. Goad abstained in the vote, due to the fact he is the landlord for the Chamber office.
