Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources has captured a Golden Eagle on the property of Primland, near Meadows of Dan, VA (Patrick County)

He took blood tests, weight, measurements and placed a telemetry device on the bird for tracking its movements and migrations. Carl McDaniel is the hunting and outdoor activity supervisor at Primland where he has overseen the land for more than 2 decades. He is a forestry graduate from Virginia Tech.
