Jan. 12-Roger Hayden, Supervisor from the Dan River District, has been selected at the 2011 Chairman of the Patrick County Board of Supervisors.

Pictured here is Karl Weiss handing over the gavel to Roger. (Photo by Tom Bishop) Roger is a resident of Claudville, VA. He replaces Karl Weiss, from the Blue Ridge District, who served in 2010. Roger was elected on a vote of 4-0 with 1 abstaining. All of the other 4 supervisors voted in favor of Roger. Roger abstained. Selected as Vice Chairman of the Board for 2011 was Dr. Locke Boyce, from the Mayo River District. The vote was 3-1 with 1 abstaining. Voting in favor of Dr. Boyce was Crystal Harris from Smith River, Ron Knight from Mayo River and Roger Hayden from Dan River. Karl Weiss voted no. Dr. Boyce abstained.
