Americana bluegrass band His & Hers to open the outdoor amphitheater concert. –----- The Blue Ridge Music Center will present The Amanda Cook Band in concert with His & Hers on Saturday, August 29th in the venue’s scenic outdoor amphitheater on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This year’s Deep Roots, Many Voices concert series marks the 25th anniversary of live shows at the Music Center. Rooted in the rich tradition of bluegrass while embracing a fresh, contemporary sound, the Laurel Fork, Virginia-based Amanda Cook Band delivers heartfelt storytelling, tight harmonies, and dynamic instrumentation that connects with audiences of all ages. The band is fronted by award-nominated vocalist, Amanda Cook, who is also the owner of Mountain Fever Records in Willis, Va. The Amanda Cook Band’s performances have graced iconic stages such as the Grand Ole Opry, The Station Inn, and the Americana Music Show has praised their music, saying “If fresh modern bluegrass mixed with an equally vibrant country voice is your thing, then Amanda Cook's music is sure to satisfy.” This summer, the band has released two singles from their upcoming record, Love Through Time, which will be released in October. The title track and “Ghost Time” charted in the Top 10 on the Bluegrass Radio Charts. His & Hers is a husband and wife-fronted folk Americana-grass band from the North Carolina Piedmont. The band has released four albums including Come On In (2022) and Live at The Primavera Roadhouse, Volume 1 (2024). Regionally, they have performed their unique blend of folk, Americana, and contemporary bluegrass at MerleFest, Carolina in The Fall, Blue Bear Music Festival, Appaloosa Festival, Beer & Banjos, Piedmont Folkways, The Willingham Theater, and The Reeves Theater. This is the penultimate concert in the Blue Ridge Music Center’s 2026 Summer Concert Series. The series will conclude on Saturday, September 5 with North Carolina folk bands Chatham Rabbits and Holler Choir. Blue Ridge Music Center concerts are held rain or shine. The venue is accessible for people with disabilities and offers assistive listening devices for use during concerts. Food will be available for purchase during the concert from The Bluffs Restaurant. Concertgoers are welcome to bring picnics. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. The amphitheater gates open at 5:45 p.m. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Blue Ridge Music Center preserves, interprets, and presents the evolving musical traditions of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
