The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation invites you to join us every second Saturday to explore the future Mayo River State Park. Discover the secrets of the Saura native Americans who inhabited the area and follow in the footsteps of William Byrd's surveying party. Mayo River Trail (Approximately 4 miles) May, July September, and November. Redbud Trail (April, June, August, and October). The future site of Mayo River State Park is made possible through funding from Eco Ambassador Council and support from Dan River Basin Association.
