Bob White Covered Bridge

Woolwine, VA  

Bob White Covered Bridge was built in 1921 and served as a connection between Route 8 and the Smith River Church of the Brethren. The Bob White Covered Bridge was designed and built by Walter Weaver and is an 80 foot, trussed construction. The bridge can be reached by traveling 1.5 miles south on Route 8, east one mile on Route 618 to Route 869, then south one-tenth of a mile.
The bridge was sadly destroyed in the flood of September 2015.






The Bob White Covered Bridge, also known as the Lower Covered Bridge or Woolwine Covered Bridge, was a county-owned wooden covered bridge that spanned the Smith River in Patrick County, Virginia, United States. It was located on the old portion of Bob White Road off State Route 8 southeast of the community of Woolwine, about 13 miles north of Stuart. Coordinates were 36°46?44.82?N 80°14?51.26?W.
