STUART, Va. — Small businesses in Patrick County and across Virginia have a new opportunity to access competitive group health insurance rates through the WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance, a growing association of Virginia businesses and organizations led by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
The WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance, in partnership with Anthem, offers small businesses access to a portfolio of health plans through a self-funded benefit plan designed to provide a simpler and potentially more cost-effective way for employers to offer group health insurance.
By joining together as a larger group, participating small businesses may gain access to financial protection and competitive rates that can be difficult for smaller employers to achieve on their own. Benefits include lower, more predictable costs through fixed monthly payments, easier administration, flexibility in benefit plan choices, competitive rates, and partnerships with local doctors and hospitals. Participants also have access to one of the largest specialty networks nationally.
“Small businesses often face significant challenges when it comes to providing competitive employee benefits,” said Rebecca Adcock, executive director, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. “This partnership provides another option for local employers to explore as they work to attract and retain employees while managing the cost of health coverage.”
To qualify, businesses must:
Be a member of an association or other uniting entity, such as a Chamber of Commerce;
Have between 2 and 50 eligible employees;
Have a minimum of 2 enrolling employees; and
Be located and headquartered within Anthem’s Virginia service area.
The WiseChoice Healthcare Alliance is designed to bring businesses and organizations together through benefit partnerships, creating greater opportunities for small employers across the Commonwealth.
