The cohort will meet on the third Tuesday of each month for professional development activities, industry tours, and conversations with local leaders to gain a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our community. The program is designed to enhance leadership potential of citizens and to increase civic engagement locally and will include a community service component, consisting of either volunteer hours or a community-based project. Participants will be expected to attend a sampling of community meetings to gain a greater understanding of committees and initiatives working for the betterment of Patrick County broadly. An overnight trip to Richmond will be scheduled to allow participants a chance to learn more about statewide legislative processes and priorities.
PROGRAM GOALS
Participants will gain awareness of the assets of the community, identify needs, and experience personal and professional growth to enhance leadership capacity and civic engagement.
