Support Our Appalachian and Local Communities

October 10, 2024
While Patrick County and our immediate neighbors are fortunate to have little damage due to Hurricane Helene, the same cannot be said for our Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee, and Western North Carolina communities. I encourage everyone to keep them in your prayers as they start the long road to recovery. If you feel led to donate, here are some suggestions:

If you feel led to donate, please do either by one of the collection sites for supplies around the county or online at the many charitable organizations that are assisting during this crisis.  As a small community we all know the day to day struggles we face and how that can only be exponentially exaggerated by such a natural disaster.

The Chamber would also like to encourage people, now more than ever, to support and purchase from our local businesses.  It is so important to us all. With travel restricted in and out of some of our neighboring communities and on the Parkway (which we are hopeful the Virginia section will be open within the week), our fall tourist season is looking a little different.  If you are able, support those small businesses that are vital to Patrick County.
