The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce in corporation with Patrick County Parks & Recreation installed a Free Little Library by the kiosk at the Mayo River Rail Trail parking lot. This lending library is available to the public to take a book and leave book. The river is a great place to sit and read for a bit.

We have stocked it with adult books and several children's books for them to enjoy while using the trail. This project is part of the Gateway Community Initiative that the chamber, along with the Town of Stuart, Reynolds Homestead, PC Tourism, PC Parks & Rec, Bull Mountain Arts and individuals are part of working to enhance amenities along the trail and work for further extension of the trail. The library was donated by Ann and Nelson McConnell.
