Mayberry Book Festival, sponsored by The Perry Family Scholarship, will be hosted by the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, 301 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC on Saturday, July 19th, 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This event, held on the 3rd floor, will be a fundraiser for the Perry Family Scholarship. Admission is $8 per person and includes the book festival and museum. The festival will feature more than 30 regional authors. Several workshops will be held, Guided Creative Writing Contest at noon as well as Summer Reading Challenge at 1:15 p.m. A children's area will be available. Note: Thomas D. "Tom" Perry will release his new book, "Little Chicago: Murder in Mount Airy and The Surrounding Area," with copies available for purchase at $15 each.
