Pottery II: Coil Building Class hosted by VT/Reynolds Homestead at the Creative Arts Center, Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning June 10th, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Schedule provided first night of class. Instructor Jessica Shelor will be teaching the class. $70 per person and does not include clay. Clay is an additional $15. Register today for this summer class.
Coiling is a method of creating pottery. Using the coiling
technique, it is possible to build thicker or taller walled vessels
than can be created with the pinch method. The technique
permits control of the walls as they are built up and allows
building on top of the walls to make the vessel look bigger and
bulge outward or narrow inward with less danger of collapsing.
