Supt. Dr. Roger Morris Declares March 6th as Green And Gold Day
3/6/10 - In light of the Patrick County High School Cougars Girls Basketball Team being in the State Tournament Dr. Roger Morrise declares Mar. 6 as "Green and Gold Day".
TO THE PATRICK COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS STAFF, STUDENTS, COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTERS:
For the third time in the history of the program, the Patrick County High School Girls Basketball program has made it to the Final Four of the Virginia High School League state basketball championships (Group AA, Region 4, Div 3) after defeating the Northside Vikings Friday night in the VHSL quarterfinals or "Elite Eight". We are very proud of the coaches, players, managers, parents, and other supporters. The semifinal game will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 11:00 am at the Siegel Center in Richmond, where they will play the Millsbrook Pioneers (http://www.frederick.k12.va.us/education/school/school.php?sectiondetailid=181&sc_id=1157636985&sc_id=1157636985).
The cost for tickets is $10.00. More information will be distributed by the Activities Director with regard to a fan bus, pre-sell tickets, and other details with reference to where the ladies will be staying.
Arrangements are continuing to be made. Also it is our understanding the game will be simulcast via internet by Fun Facts Radio.
As the Division Superintendent, I am declaring that Tuesday, March 6th be celebrated as "Green and Gold Day" in the schools and request that all Patrick County fans and citizens wear green and gold this day in support of our team. Let's continue to support the girls as they attempt to move to the Championship Game, which is set to be played on Saturday.
