Today, the
Patrick County Chamber of Commerce announced that Tim Collins, the Chamber’s
Chief Executive Officer, has announced his resignation to accept a consulting
position in the private sector. Collins’ departure comes after four and
one-half years of distinguished service in which he planned and help implement
many of the organization’s goals and Strategic Plan, as well as helped
strengthen the Chamber relationships within the community.
“Tim has been
an invaluable, motivated leader for our organization and for the Community.
His ability to advocate for business, build partnerships and drive the
organization forward serves as a model for those who follow. While we are sorry
to see him go, we are so very fortunate to have benefited from Tim’s leadership
and wish him the best of luck.” said Frank Fox, Current Board President.
During his
tenure, Collins is credited with managing the first update to the Chamber’s
massive website, bolstering community relations, implementing several new
professional development and educational programs, as well as revitalizing the
Chamber sponsored Virginia State Peach Festival. Under his leadership the
Chamber has entered a multi-year partnership with the Reynolds Homestead and
the County to open the County’s first Visitor and Creative Arts Center.
“It has
been a privilege working with so many dedicated professionals who care deeply about
the vitality of Patrick County. This was a tough personal decision to make; it
has been my privilege to serve the County and its business community. I will
always be a Patrick Countian no matter where my life may take me” said Collins.
“I have enjoyed partnering with the enthusiastic directors of the Chamber, and
I know that a great future lies ahead for Patrick County.”
Collins will leave his post on July 1, 2017 and
a Committee has been appointed by the Board, led by Board President, Frank Fox,
to find Collins’s successor. Interested candidates must have a thorough
background in fundraising, event management, website maintenance, and with
running a nonprofit part-time. Those interested in applying may contact Frank
