In honor of the 400th remembrance of the first enslaved Africans brought to North America, John will discuss this event and its impact on genealogy. He will also explore a new method in genealogical research, which will be included in his book on African American genealogy. John has also written a biography on Mrs. Annie Turnbo Malone, using the genealogy tools which he will discuss. Malone was a 20th century African American millionaire entrepreneur; she taught famed Madam C.J. Walker in the science and art of beauty culture. These books will be available for purchase at the workshop.
